Put Yourself on the Path to Success

Successful entrepreneurs create their own opportunities for success. Why? Because they know that success is not accidental. You have to make it happen … and you have to actively look for opportunities to make it happen.

Life is filled with opportunities: people we stand or sit next to, chance meetings, unplanned events, items seen or read, offered projects, ideas that seemingly come out of nowhere. We have to recognize each of them for what they can be if we want to achieve our goals.

Seek out opportunity and  leverage it into something more. Watch for it. Evaluate it. Answer the door and build on it. Don’t let it pass you by. Successful people are constantly watching for opportunity and, when they find it, they embrace it. They do not wait for success to happen. They make it happen … one opportunity at a time.

We often hear about being ‘on the road to success’. There is no one road to success, but there are a lot of paths and side roads. Knowing which path to take is where strategy comes in. Knowing when to step off the main road and explore a new path is where courage and creativity come in. Knowing when to stop exploring and put the accelerator down for a while in order to get closer to your ultimate destination is where experience comes in.

Opportunity is out there. If you are open to it and actively working toward your goals, it will find you. Better yet: Put yourself in the path of success by focusing on what you want to achieve. Immerse yourself in your topic. Think about it, read about it, talk about it.

Actively look for and create opportunities to be successful and you will be successful.

You’ve heard this one too: ‘Follow the path and see where it leads.’ Opportunity is a path. It is a road that can move you forward, or present a new direction for achieving your goals. Be aware of and open to possibilities – and then act on them. Some will pan out, others won’t. But you will never know what COULD have happened unless you follow the path for a while.

In order to truly be open for business, we have to truly be open to opportunity.  … Lori Martinek, Branding Expert & Author, http://www.edcgrow.com, http://www.herlifepublishing.com

Success Is A Process

Entrepreneurship — and Success — is a process, not an event.

Let me put that into perspective:

– Dating is a process. So is losing weight, running a company … or building a brand. These are ongoing efforts that evolve.

Putting up a trade show booth is an event. So is hosting a luncheon, publishing a book or having surgery. They are better defined and, typically, more finite.

Events are easier to manage, pay for and get excited about. BUT it is processes that build results that last for the long haul.

Approach everything that you do as part of the process of being successful. It should be a lifelong, rewarding venture … Lori Martinek, Branding Expert & Author, http://edcgrow.com

V-Wise Program Helps Women Vets Shine!

I am passionate about helping women, minority and Veteran-owned businesses find the inspiration and assistance that they need to succeed in a challenging economy and a highly competitive small business environment. That’s why I was excited to learn about V-Wise: Women Veterans Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.

This SBA-funded program is taking off across America, with workshops in select cities. I’m lobbying to bring this exciting program to Arizona, where it is sure to draw from huge Veteran populations in Phoenix, Tucson and beyond. Add your voice to mine and let’s bring V-Wise to Arizona next year!

Turn On The Light!

As entrepreneurs, we long to turn our passions into income-producing busineses. Who doesn’t dream of being able to wake up each day and make money for living their passion?

A business that is built on your strengths is much more likely to succeed and it is much more likely to survive the challenges that all new businesses face. Why? Because its entrepreneurial, passion-pursuing owner … that’s you … will be more likely to hang in there, work hard and do what it takes to make it through tough times. Your commitment and emotional investment will make you willing to invest your time and effort to make things work and the quality of the time and the effort that you invest will be better.

You will be involved by choice … and choice is the most powerful motivator in the world! … Lori Martinek, Branding Expert & Author, http://pplusonline.com

Make Your Work Speak For Itself!

make-it-navajo-1Our satisfied clients have always been our best source of new business and they have helped us become a marketing firm that doesn’t have to spend a lot of time marketing itself. We work very hard to ensure that our work speaks for itself!

We just completed our contract with the Real AZ Development Council, which included the development of a detailed branding strategy and the design and construction of a gateway regional website at http://www.realazcorridor.com/

The Real AZ Development Council is a collaborative regional economic development effort which promotes the Real AZ Corridor, a nearly 100-mile wide region which includes the Navajo County communities of Holbrook, Pinetop-Lakeside, Show Low, Snowflake, Taylor and Winslow and the Apache County communities of Eagar, St. Johns and Springerville. We worked closely with this large group to get to know the area … the communities … and the many strengths of Arizona’s most undiscovered region of opportunity.

We have already been asked to begin our next assignment for this rising regional development group: a full set of Community Landing Pages that will transition visitors from the gateway Real AZ Corridor site to the individual websites of the two counties and nine participating communities. We have also been retained by the towns of Taylor and Snowflake for a separate project … all based on the quality of our work … and on the quality of the experience of working with us.

Always strive to make your satisfied customers your best cheerleaders …. Lori Martinek, Branding Expert & Author, http://pplusonline.com/

MindingHerBiz Helps Female Entrepreneurs Shine!

The MindingHerBiz team met with Benedict’s Cafe/Catering owner Dawn Kennington Bejar this week. Here’s what Dawn had to say (write!) about the input that she received:

“I recently met with Lori and the women from MindingHerBiz. What an awesome experience! It can be tough being a small business owner due to the fact there are few qualified people to share ideas, answer questions and help navigate the road. The MHB team helped me to clarify my path to growth with constructive feedback and actionable ideas. These women are smart and qualified with tremendous experience.  Their objective approach and input was beneficial to me. I highly recommend MHB for anyone who desires success!” — Dawn Kennington Bejar, Benedict’s Catering, http://benedictscaterers.com

Visit the MindingHerBiz website at http://mindingherbiz.com  if you or some smart, savvy female business owner you know could benefit from a (free!) session with the MHB team.
